Soviet section is spotted and deploys in the drifts in the copse of silver birches.

Second section is spotted as well but manages to deploy in the destroyed church.

Turn three and first of the defending German armour is spotted.

Hotting up now with losses on both sides. The Germans still hold St Peters Hill, but lost Auntie Vanya’s House, and are faced by a flank attack. But lurking in the village are blinds and hidden units..... going to be tricky clearing this....

More action with the Soviet assault on the main St Peters Hill position failing.

To counter that, the Germans deployed their last armour only to do nothing on the T34’s that were pouring on HE onto the village defenders.

Soviet sections storm forward only to lose the close combat.

The second German M42 and infantry support deploy. Each gruppe had two 'fausts.

Village perimeter now defended by 16 infantry and an MG42.

Auntie Vanya’s House, the Soviets hold it but it is in a vulnerable spot. Losses mounted.

Last of the German armour deploys off a Blind only to do zip to the T34’s.... not good.

Look good but their armour is pretty thin when an 85mm shell hits it. Better hope for snow...

Last photos of the game. German morale was on the verge of collapsing so Kompanie commander pulled the remaining troops out and the exhausted Russians gingerly occupied the crossroads. Great to play some WW2 again.
