Our second playtest of the scenario I'm running at HMGS South Hurricon 2026 next week.

The Soviets managed to breakthrough this time. Initially, I planned to screen with my lighter armor along with my infantry assault teams who were armed with flamethrowers and SMGs. Then I would follow up with two platoons of T-34/85s and finally my IS-2 tanks.

Hetzers coming up the road managed to eliminate all of my light armor and a dug-in German machine gun team left very few of my assault teams alive to be able to do anything. A German mortar barrage sealed the deal.

Then, as expected, the German player's two King Tigers made an appearance. My T-34s were too surprised at spotting a King Tiger hidden in the brush directly in front of them and failed to take advantage of their speed to outflank it like I wanted. They were swiftly dispatched but my IS-2s had been advancing ahead during this action and did manage to outflank the Tiger.

But I didnt even get to take a shot at it as my IL-2 Sturmovik came roaring out of the clouds dropping cluster bombs and eliminated the Tiger. Surprisingly, the exact same scenario played out with the second Tiger. After that, my Soviets had a clear path forward over the heights and on to Berlin.
