IABSM AAR: Kamenewo at The Other Partisan 2025

Here are two sets of pictures showing 1st Corps’ I Ain’t Been Shot Mum demonstration game at this year’s The Other Partisan show.

Beautifully presented, it’s a stunning simulation of the battle of Kamenewo, October 1941, where Soviet T-34s halted the Germans’ advance on Moscow.

Another spectacular I Ain’t Been Shot Mum after action report from Mercian Miniatures taken from the IABSM Facebook Group and featuring miniatures from 1st Corps.

This game in an Operation Sealion encounter at what started off as Bridlington but then became a generic British seasside town. The set up is truly inspirational and well worth a look.

IABSM AAR: Taking the Starmaskaya Bridge

Regular visitors will have seen the two recent reports featuring the excellent Starmaskaya table put on by legendary IABSM duo Phil and Jenny: one from a preview game and one my own report from this year’s Operation Market Larden event.

IABSM AAR: Storming the Starmerskaya at OML11

Fantastic game of I Ain’t Been Shot Mum at the afternoon session of this year’s Operation Market Larden Lardy Day.

The game, set during Operation Barbarossa in June 1941, involved me leading a Soviet force forward to clear the field of an advancing German recce force before securing the bridges over the river.

This weekend coming up I’m off to Evesham for the annual Operation Market Larden event: a cornucopia of Lard now in its 12th year. I’ve been to every OML so far, and had a whale of time on every occasion.

This year I’m playing Sharp Practice in the morning and I Ain’t Been Shot Mum in the afternoon, so it was with great pleasure that I saw that Phil & Jenny Turner have been playtesting the game in preparation. Click on the picture below to see pictures of that playtest…can’t wait!

Here’s a battle repot from a game of I Ain’t Been Shot Mum played in March.

It’s set on the first day of the second world war and involves advancing Germans trying to stop Polish engineers blowing a vital railway bridge so that they can bring up their armoured train.
